This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to operate, inspect and monitor fuel supply from source to recipient unit storage.
A fuel system will consist of a variety of plant and equipment that requires regular monitoring to ensure smooth operations are maintained in the fuel delivery process.
Competency in this unit requires the ability to plan work, operate fuel supply plant, test fuel supply plant, analyse fuel supply plant faults, monitor and inspect fuel supply plant and the completion of all documentation. Individuals will, in general, work under supervision, in a power generation facility, as a fuel operator.
Power generation plant operators are typically trained and authorised to isolate, prepare plant and issue permits to work.
